Small Steps, Big Crumbs

Laying the Foundation, One Bite at a Time

This week reminded me of something simple but powerful: even the smallest steps add up. It’s been a whirlwind of groundwork and big questions, and let’s be honest—it’s daunting. But it’s also kind of incredible. I’m grateful for the folks who’ve taken the time to listen, answer my endless questions, and cheer me on as I figure this out.

Here’s what’s been on my mind (and plate) this week:

Big Moves for Toasty Polvo

 Back to School-ish

I’m officially signed up for the Food Business Bootcamp at Hudson Kitchen in Kearny, NJ. Why? Because someday, I can see a non-infused version of Toasty Polvo sitting on specialty grocery store shelves. And if I’m going to dream that big, I need a refresher on food costing and scaling up production.

 Chasing the License

I’ve been deep in the weeds (pun intended) with New Jersey’s CRC requirements for the Conditional Microbusiness License. It’s the key to legally producing edibles, and while the process is…a lot, it’s a step closer to making Toasty Polvo a reality.

 Officially Toasty Polvo

Here’s a little win: Toasty Polvo is now officially registered as a business in New Jersey. It might seem like a small thing, but it feels like planting the first seed of something much bigger.

The January Menu Drop

I’ve been toying with the idea of releasing new flavors on a schedule—maybe every third Thursday of the month, with orders open until sold out and drop-offs happening Friday to Sunday in NJ and NY.

If you’re reading this, you’re getting the first peek at the January Menu

  • OG Polvo (Non-Infused): 8 Brown Butter Classic Polvoron

  • Snack Pack (Non-Infused): 4 Milo Polvoron, 4 Cookies and Cream Polvoron, and 4 Brown Butter Classic Polvoron

  • Toasty Polvo (Infused) 15 Mini Milo Polvoron infused with Hazelnut Cream (Sativa-dominant) 5mg THC per piece (75mg total)

Want to order? Just hit reply and let me know.

This week was all about laying bricks for the path ahead. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s honest, necessary, and deeply rewarding. There’s something about taking small steps that feels monumental when they’re leading you toward a dream.

Thanks for being here, for reading this, for believing in what Toasty Polvo could be.

Stay Toasty,

Maria Javier
