Finding the Rhythm

Small Steps, Big Flavor

This week, I’ve been trying to find my rhythm. There’s been sunshine (even though it’s cold), way too much coffee, and plenty of roadblocks. But you know what? We’re still moving. Sometimes it’s one step forward and two steps sideways, but that’s still progress. And here’s what’s keeping me grounded: I’ve got time.

Licensing Updates

After diving into the NJ Cannabis Regulatory Commission website, I realized conditional licenses are open until April 2, 2025. It’s like someone just handed me a deep breath. The runway is there—I just have to use it.

And speaking of slowdowns (or maybe opportunities?), the Small Business Bootcamp at Hudson Kitchen has been pushed back a month. It’s giving me extra time to refine, rework, and figure things out, so I’ll take it.

The Algorithm Dilemma

Instagram is not exactly the friendliest place for cannabis talk. So, how do you tell your story when you know half of it could get buried? I don’t have the answer yet, but I’m brainstorming creative ways to navigate it. If you’ve got ideas, reply to this email—I’m all ears.

CannaDiva Collective

Big news: I got accepted into the CannaDiva Collective! This amazing group is all about empowering women in cannabis, offering resources, events, and a supportive community to help us thrive in the industry. If you’re interested in their upcoming vision-boarding event, sign up and I’ll see you there!

Packaging Progress

I’ve been playing with packaging designs, and the goal is simple: make it easy to pack, easy to ship, and still feel special.

Updated Polvoron Packaging

We also made our first drop-offs in Brooklyn this week and are prepping shipments for South Carolina and Maryland. (Fun fact: these batches have survived shipping before, so I’m cautiously optimistic!) Here’s a shot of our delivery team in action.

Moments That Matter

“It is literally my platonic ideal of polvoron.”

Hearing that from someone who tasted freshly made polvoron this week hit me right in the feels. It’s one thing to believe in what you’re doing, but when someone else lights up over it? That’s fuel for the fire.

I’m still in the middle of recipe testing, experimenting with ingredients like Filipino muscovado sugar and coconut sugar to create something uniquely flavorful. It’s messy, but it’s the kind of messy that feels right.

Why Whole Flower Matters

Let’s get nerdy for a second. Toasty Polvo uses the whole flower, not just THC oil. That means we’re working with the full terpene profile of each strain, and trust me, that’s where the magic happens.

Take this month’s Hazelnut Cream Toasty Polvo. Its terpene profile brings:

  • Beta-Caryophyllene: The anxiety-soothing, mood-boosting goodness found in cloves and rosemary.

  • Myrcene: The chill vibe of mangoes, with antifungal and sedative properties to match.

  • Terpinolene: Citrus-y and floral, with potential heart-health and cancer-fighting benefits.

It’s more than just “sativa or indica.” These terpenes shape how each strain feels, making every bite intentional, balanced, and honestly, kind of amazing.

So here we are: finding the rhythm, celebrating the wins, and figuring out what’s next. Thank you for being here, for reading, and for believing in Toasty Polvo.

Stay Toasty,
